Remember how I mentioned I'd be out in the wild, meeting actual humans who read my books? Well, I DID IT! And somehow managed not to spill coffee on anyone important or call a reader by the wrong name (that I'm aware of).
📚 My FIRST BOOK SIGNING ADVENTURE 📚
This weekend, I ventured out of my writing cave for my very first book signing! It was equal parts terrifying and exhilarating—kind of like the first time you read a spicy book with parents in the vicinity.

Me and My "Assistant" (wink, wink) (AKA My Bestie & Emotional Support Person Who Knows All My Secrets But Loves Me Anyway)
The absolute highlight was finally meeting my PA (who also happens to be the amazing event planner) in person. Especially after months of late-night DMs and slightly unhinged voice notes on the craziness of life.
There's something magical about putting faces to the names of people who help keep your author life (and life, life) from completely derailing.
And for more cool moments...
I got to meet one of my stalkers😏 readers and Instagram friends IN THE FLESH!
We celebrated surviving the social marathon with dinner afterward, where I could finally relax, stop worrying about my hair, and talk without the pressure of sounding intelligent in public.
Nothing bonds humans quite like post-event sushi and trading stories about fictional people as if they're real.
Honestly, meeting fellow authors and connecting with readers who actually choose to spend time with the characters living in my head was pretty surreal.
Special shoutout to everyone who came by to say hello—your excitement about these stories means more than you know. 🫶🏻
(And if I stared at you with a slightly panicked expression when you mentioned your favorite scene, it's because I was simultaneously trying to remember if I'd brushed my teeth that morning, while also processing that REAL HUMANS READ MY BOOKS.)
🔥 UPCOMING BOOK NEWS & UPDATES 🔥
GRUMPFEST KICKSTARTER COMING SOON! The Kickstarter for the special edition hardback of GRUMPFEST is nearly ready to launch! If you want to be first in line for this beauty (and some exclusive goodies), head over to Kickstarter and click "Notify me on launch" on the prelaunch page.
CHORD OF WAR AND LOVE UPDATE August 1st is still our target release date for Sean and Jade's story (Lord willing and the creek don't rise). I'm running slightly behind schedule thanks to my brain's insistence on staging painful migraine symphonies, but I'm determined to make it happen!
If you haven't preordered yet, what are you waiting for? Sean is getting impatient.
NEW IN THE BOOKSTORE: SIGNED PAPERBACKS! For those who've been asking—yes, I'm now offering SIGNED paperbacks in my bookstore! The signed bookplates will ship separately (because logistics are hard and I'm just one woman with too much coffee and not enough sense).
Plus, I've added some fancy new bundles for the completionists among you! Note: The coupon code only works on non-bundled items, because apparently I enjoy making my life unnecessarily complicated.
If you're eyeing CHORD OF WAR AND LOVE but haven't dipped your toes into this world yet, now's the perfect time to grab books 1 & 2! Get to know the team of ex-Navy SEALS who'll steal your heart with a well-timed glower.
Quick health update if you happen to follow my chronic migraine saga: This weekend was a doozy, BUT the migraine gods mercifully spared me on the actual signing day. I'm counting that as a major win, even if I spent Sunday driving home in the rain, then huddling in a dark room muttering obscenities at my neurological system.
Silver lining: Pain-induced delirium sometimes results in surprisingly good dialogue for my characters. Who knew?
Anyhoo, I'd love to hear if you made it to the signing or if you're planning to support the Kickstarter! Hit reply and let me know.
Still buzzing from meeting actual readers,
P.S. If you're wondering about my signing day ritual—it involved panic-checking I didn't forget anything every five minutes, drinking enough tea & coffee to animate a small village, and repeatedly losing my hair clip because I clipped it somewhere weird. Also, asking my bestie (one more time) how the Square app works again. The glamorous author life, folks!

He's the grump with a shattered past. She's the sunshine determined to put him back together—if his demons don't break them both first.

Psst! Okay, so you made it to the end, but... could you see any of the pretty pictures?
If not, you'll need to add my email, author@honeymavryck.com to your safe sender/contact list. If that doesn't work, hit reply and we'll troubleshoot together!
Affiliate link alert! If you click and buy my books through any of my links, I might earn a tiny commission—like, barely enough for a coffee. Plus, someone has to fund my hockey research. (It's me. I fund it.) But hey, every little bit keeps me caffeinated and writing more swoony, snarky stories for you. Thanks for the support!
