🍯🌺 That time I hacked into Max & Lily's phones (plus Kickstarter update!)

Hey there, fellow romance stalker,

You know how sometimes you're just minding your own business when suddenly your characters' phones mysteriously unlock and their text threads somehow end up on your screen?

No? Just me?

Well, regardless of how I obtained this information (don't ask, don't tell), I've come across something I simply MUST share with you.

That's right - I've intercepted Max and Lily's private text messages, and let's just say... things get interesting. I'm probably breaking all sorts of fictional privacy laws by sharing this, but I'm willing to risk it.

For you.

MAX & LILY'S PRIVATE TEXT THREAD: UNCENSORED

Monday, 7:14 AM

LILY: Team meeting moved to 9. Thought you should know since you're allergic to checking your email.
MAX: I check my email.
LILY: Once a week doesn't count, grumpy.
MAX: Noted, sunshine. Anything else you'd like to manage in my life?
LILY: Just doing my job. And it's a long list.
MAX: Your job isn't to babysit me.
LILY: Could've fooled me.

Tuesday, 2:30 PM

LILY: PR needs a quote from you about the charity game.
MAX: "No comment."
LILY: Very helpful. Try again.
MAX: "I look forward to it."
LILY: Four whole words! I'm impressed.
MAX: Don't push it, sunshine.

Thursday, 10:17 PM

MAX: Your edges were sloppy today.
LILY: Excuse me?
MAX: On the ice. After everyone left. Your edges. Sloppy.
LILY: You were watching me?
MAX: Just happened to notice.
LILY: I didn't think anyone was there.
MAX: I'm always there.
LILY: Creepy much?
MAX: Professional observation.
LILY: So you professionally observed me when I thought I was alone?
MAX: You're not as alone as you think.
LILY: That's...disconcerting.
MAX: Your form wasn't bad. Just your edges.
LILY: Was that almost a compliment?
MAX: Don't get used to it.

Friday, 11:42 PM

LILY: Just saw your game-winning goal. Nice shot.
MAX: It's late. Why are you still up?
LILY: Watching the highlights. You didn't answer my text.
MAX: I was showering.
LILY: ...
MAX: What?
LILY: Nothing. Good game. That's all.
MAX: You're picturing me in the shower now, aren't you?
LILY: I am NOT.
MAX: Liar.
LILY: You're insufferable.
MAX: Yet you're still texting me. At midnight.
LILY: Good NIGHT, Harrison.
MAX: Sweet dreams, sunshine. Hope they're wet.
LILY: MAX!
MAX: I meant from the shower. What were YOU thinking?

Saturday, 1:03 AM

LILY: I wasn't thinking anything.
MAX: You took 13 minutes to respond. You were definitely thinking something.
LILY: Why are YOU still up?
MAX: Can't sleep.
LILY: Try counting sheep.
MAX: Tried counting the freckles on your neck instead.
LILY: ...
LILY: I don't have freckles on my neck.
MAX: The one behind your left ear disagrees.
LILY: How do you even know about that?
MAX: I notice things.
LILY: That's...
MAX: Creepy? You already said that.
LILY: I was going to say specific.
MAX: I'm very observant.
LILY: What else have you "observed"?
MAX: The way you bite your lip when you're nervous. How you tap your pen three times before writing. The small scar on your wrist.
LILY: Why are you watching me so closely?
MAX: Why do you care that I am?

Saturday, 1:47 AM

LILY: You didn't answer my question.
MAX: Neither did you.
LILY: I asked first.
MAX: Maybe I like what I see.
LILY: ...
MAX: Too much?
LILY: No.
MAX: No?
LILY: Just unexpected.
MAX: I'm full of surprises.
LILY: Like what?
MAX: Wouldn't you like to know.
LILY: Actually, yes.
MAX: Come to practice early tomorrow. I'll show you.
LILY: Show me what?
MAX: Better edges.
LILY: Is that what we're calling it now?
MAX: What did you think I meant, sunshine?
LILY: Nothing. Good night, Max.
MAX: Sweet dreams, Lily.

Sunday, 6:13 AM

LILY: I'll be there at 5.
MAX: I'll be waiting.
LILY: Just to be clear, this is about skating.
MAX: If that's what you need to tell yourself.
LILY: Max...
MAX: Problem?
LILY: This is complicated.
MAX: Only if you overthink it.
LILY: That's my specialty.
MAX: I know something else you'd be good at.
LILY: MAX!
MAX: Skating, Lily. I'm talking about skating.
LILY: Sure you are.
MAX: What else would I be talking about?
LILY: I hate you.
MAX: No, you don't.
LILY: I'm still coming at 5.
MAX: I'm counting on it.

...And that's where the text thread mysteriously cuts off!

What happened when Lily showed up at 5? Well, some things are better left to the imagination. (Or, you know, maybe to the actual book. Only Max and Lily know at this point.)

Speaking of which, have you pre-ordered Grumpfest yet? All of Max and Lily's tension, banter, and chemistry await—plus (maybe?) whatever happened after those texts!

And don't forget to check out the Kickstarter prelaunch page and smash that "Notify Me on Launch" button for your chance to get first dibs on special editions that might just include more exclusive content like this! (Hint, hint.)

Yours in fictional phone hacking,

P.S. If Max asks, you didn't see ANY of this. I value my life too much to have him find out I've been snooping through his texts. That glare is lethal. ::shudders::

P.P.S. Don't forget you can use code BEESBLOOMS20 for 20% off your order at the Bees & Blooms Bookstore! Consider it hush money.

Grumpfest

By Honey Mavryck

He’s the grump with a broken past. She’s the sunshine that might just save him—if his baggage doesn't destroy them first.

I don’t do smiles. I don’t do team bonding, calendar shoots, or charity events. I play hockey. I stay out of the spotlight. After what happened, I learned one thing: never get close enough to get burned.

risky position

By Honey Mavryck

Grayson Brooks. Technically, my boss. And Altman Advertising's resident playboy.

He’s infuriatingly charming, dangerously dominant, and the only man who makes my carefully constructed professional facade melt into a puddle.

My safest bet is to ignore him.

Simple, right?

Crimson fate

By Alex Roe

Three centuries of agony with every feed. That was my curse.

Until Violet Chen walked into my classroom smelling like salvation

She's awakening things I thought died with my humanity.

She's worth burning the world down for.

And God help anyone who tries to take her from me.

Commanding Sia

By Zoe Dawson

Separated by loss. . .reunited by duty…

Bombarded both personally and professionally, Sia must trust her instincts and suppress the feelings that surface for her enigmatic and sexy partner.
