Hey there, book lover,
IT'S HAPPENING! The Romance Book Blast is LIVE right now with hundreds of free books, and naturally, my wifi decided today was the perfect day to act like it's powered by hamsters on coffee breaks.
Meanwhile, my baby (the 22-year-old who just spent his birthday conquering France) is currently somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean coming home, and I'm refreshing flight tracking apps like it's my job.
π TLDR: THE IMPORTANT STUFF

π FREE BOOK MADNESS IS HERE
The Romance Book Blast officially launched this morning with HUNDREDS of free romance books across every subgenre your heart desires. Dark romance, small town sweethearts, grumpy sunshine, enemies to lovers, rockstar romance (obviously), sports romance, paranormal, historical - basically Christmas morning for romance readers.
But here's the thing: It's TODAY ONLY. As in, (most) of these books go back to regular price tomorrow, so don't procrastinate like I do with literally everything else in life. GRAB ALL THE FREE BOOKS
β‘ WIFI ROUTER DEATH MATCH
Of course, on the day when thousands of book lovers are trying to download free books, my internet decides to move at the speed of dial-up circa 1995. I've reset this router more times than I've checked my kid's flight status (which is saying something).
At this point, I'm seriously considering whether throwing it through the nearest window would actually improve the connection. The answer is probably no, but it would definitely improve my mood.
βοΈ BABY BIRD HOMEWARD BOUND
Speaking of things that make me refresh apps obsessively, my France-adventuring kid is currently somewhere over the ocean on his way home. Flight tracking has become my new favorite hobby, right after contemplating router violence.
There's something about your kid being 30,000 feet above the Atlantic that makes you realize how much you miss their chaos in your daily routine. Even when that chaos involves them eating all your good snacks and leaving dishes in impossible places.
π STORM PRAYERS
On a more serious note, please keep Jamaica in your thoughts and prayers. There's a psycho storm headed their way, and those beautiful people and that gorgeous island need all the good energy we can send.
Mother Nature's been particularly moody lately, and it's the folks in the path who pay the price.
πΈ CHORD UPDATE
If your wifi is cooperating better than mine (which, let's be honest, isn't a high bar), Chord of War & Love is still making readers forget they have real-world responsibilities. Sean and Jade continue to prove that rockstars and emotional growth can absolutely coexist.
π« THE REAL TALK
Some days you wake up and the book universe gives you hundreds of free books, your kid is flying home safe across an ocean, and your biggest problem is wanting to commit violence against technology.
Those are pretty good days, all things considered.
Now go grab those free books before they disappear, and maybe say a little prayer for safe travels and calm seas while you're at it.
Still believing in happily ever afters (and functional internet),
