Hey there, fellow survivor of teenagers doing teenager things,
So last night was homecoming.
My youngest looked ridiculously handsome. Got a girl’s number. Had the best time. Declared it way better than last year. I was thriving.
Then he asked to go to two parties. Both in the next town over. Unsupervised. At 16.
Sir. Absolutely not. We did not raise you in this economy to get dropped off unsupervised in another zip code at night.
He negotiated. We compromised. We agreed to take him to a local party.
There was no party.
We think someone told him about a party that did not exist and he got absolutely, completely, magnificently punked. He took it well. I did not tell him I was trying very hard not to laugh.
Anyway. That was my Saturday. How was yours?
OKAY. Books. Let’s talk books. I have things to tell you.
🐝 TLDR:

- 🏒 Hotshot — reviews came in, thank you, I need more, please, I’m begging with dignity
- 🏒 Grumpfest — in case you missed where it all started

🏒 HOTSHOT — THE REVIEW UPDATE
Okay first of all — thank you. Last newsletter I asked, and some of you showed up and left reviews and I thought about each one warmly for an embarrassing amount of time. You are good people.
But I need more. I’m not too proud to say it.
And side note, this might be one of my faves, I feel so seen 🥹:
Hotshot is a fun read with real character development that you don’t always see in MMC’s.
Anyhoo. If you’ve read Hotshot and haven’t left a review yet — this is me, looking you directly in the eyes through this newsletter, asking nicely. Two sentences. One sentence. “Jack Henderson wrecked me and I’d let him do it again” counts. All of it counts. Even just stars count!
Reviews are how Amazon decides who sees the book. More eyes on Hotshot means more readers, which means Ghost gets written without me having to calculate how many DoorDash deliveries it takes to cover my word count anxiety.
He performs for forty thousand people. He only comes undone for one. Icy heroine, golden boy captain who falls first and falls filthy. A contract neither of them can keep.
If that wrecked you even a little — go tell Amazon about it. 🥰

🏒 & IF YOU HAVEN’T STARTED THE SERIES YET
Grumpfest is where it all begins. Max Harrison. Lily Thompson. A grumpy hockey player who has no interest in being anyone’s PR project and a sunshine PR manager who absolutely disagrees.
Start there. Then come find Jack. Then get ready for Ghost.

👻 SPEAKING OF GHOST
Ethan Walker hasn’t wasted a word in fifteen years. Anya Volkova is about to cost him every single one.
Preorder is live at $4.99. No promises it stays there at launch. If you want to lock in the lower price, now’s the time.

📖 OCTOBER’S Free HEARTTHROB PICK
Ethan’s last relationship ended in what I can only describe as a bleach-worthy incident right before Thanksgiving. Nearly ten years, gone. He moved back to Cedarbrook for a fresh start, moved in down the street from his best friend, and was absolutely not looking for anyone.
Especially not Harper.
She’d been right there for years — four doors down, raising her daughter, showing up at every family event. He’d never given her a second glance. He’d been with the woman he thought was the love of his life.
Until he wasn’t.
Then Harper needed a fake boyfriend. A millionaire with red flag energy wasn’t taking no for an answer, and Ethan was happy to help. A little pretending. A few public dates. Enough hand-holding to convince everyone they were taken.
Simple. Temporary. Completely under control.
You already know how this goes.
The Way Flowers Fall by M.R. Becker is fake dating, friends-to-lovers, single mom — Ethan and Harper, and I need you to go fall in love with them immediately.
It is free this month as our Heartthrob of the Month pick.
