Hey there, book lover,

📖 CHORD OF WAR AND LOVE UPDATE 📖
Also, no one freak out, but Sean and Jade’s book is SO CLOSE to ready!
But, my perfectionism is currently engaged in mortal combat with my deadline. 😅
We’re talking down-to-the-wire, caffeine-fueled editing sessions where I question every comma and second-guess every steamy scene. Rewrites are happening, my friend. I cannot control myself.
August 1st is breathing down my neck like a possessive alpha hero, and I’m equal parts terrified I'm gonna miss it, and exhilarated I'm gonna make it. Maybe. Hopefully. Shite, I better, because otherwise Amazon cancels them all and I'm in a pickle!
If you haven’t preordered yet, now’s the time—Sean’s getting impatient, and trust me, you don’t want to keep an ex-SEAL waiting.
Also, just a couple teensy reminders. Kickstarter is launching soon. Hopefully THIS MONTH. Help me, baby Jesus.
ALSO, ALSO.
Don't forget I now have SIGNED paperbacks in my Bees & Blooms Bookstore and have made a few bundles available.
Okay, on to some more personal stuff.
💕 WHEN YOUR SON MAKES YOU UGLY CRY 💕
Real talk: Mental health has been doing its best to knock me down lately. Between migraines staging a coup in my brain and the financial stress of freelance work drying up, I’ve been riding the struggle bus with an expired ticket.
Yesterday, my middle son—my gentle giant teddy bear of a 21 year old—found me in a particularly low moment.
“Why are you sad, Mom? Do you need a hug from your big cuddly son?”
Reader, I said yes.
And then I absolutely LOST IT. Full-on ugly crying into his shoulder while he patted my back like I was the child.
“Maybe that was a bad idea,” I sniffled.
We both burst out laughing, and suddenly the world felt a little less heavy. Sometimes your kids save you in the most unexpected ways. My heart needed that moment more than he’ll ever know.
AND NOW, A BRIEF MOMENT OF HONESTY
Just want you to know that I share some of my messy life moments not for sympathy, but because I know many of you are fighting your own battles.
Whether it’s health, finances, family, or that manuscript that won’t behave—we’re all just doing our best.
Some days that means crushing our goals. Other days it means accepting hugs from our kids and ugly crying. Both are valid. Both are human.
Thank you for being here through the highs and the lows. Your support—whether it’s buying books, leaving reviews, or just reading these slightly unhinged newsletters—means everything.
Now go grab those free books before the clock strikes midnight!
Still standing (barely),
