Hey there, book lover,
Black Friday week is bringing ALL the book deals, and I'm about to make your TBR pile completely unmanageable. You're welcome (and I'm sorry).
Also packing boxes for our move while having Big Feelings about change, holidays, and why bubble wrap is so oddly satisfying to pop when you're stressed.
🐝 TLDR: THE IMPORTANT STUFF
• 99¢ ROMANCE BLAST: Nov 28-Dec 1 at RomanceBookLovers.com
• BOOKISH BARGAINS: Story Sunday Nov 30 at BookishBargains.com
• MY BOOKS ON SALE: Several titles discounted for Black Friday week
• NEW DIGS: Moving soon, future home office is calling my name
• HOLIDAY FEELS: They're complicated this year (maybe for you too?)
💸 BLACK FRIDAY BOOK BONANZA
Your wallet's about to hate me, but your Kindle will thank you. Starting Thanksgiving Day (Nov 28) through Dec 1st, Romance Book Lovers is hosting a massive 99¢ book blast. We're talking hundreds of romance books for less than your morning coffee.
Then on Sunday (Nov 30), mark your calendar and bookmark this link! Bookish Bargains is doing their Story Sunday event with even MORE deals because apparently we all need 847 books in our TBR pile.
Several of my books will be on sale too - perfect time to grab anything you've been meaning to read or gift to that romance-loving friend who already has everything.
📦 BOXES, BUBBLE WRAP, AND BIG CHANGES
We're moving! Which means I'm currently surrounded by boxes, questioning why I own 17 coffee mugs, and getting weirdly emotional about packing up my current writing space.
But also? I cannot WAIT to set up my new home office. There's this perfect little nook that's practically begging for bookshelves, and a window that actually gets morning light (my vampire writing schedule is shook).
Change is hard though, even when it's good. Even when you need it. There's something about packing up your life that makes you realize how much you attach memories to spaces.
🦃 THE HOLIDAY TRUTH
If you're celebrating Thanksgiving this week, I hope it's exactly the level of chaos you can handle.
And if you're struggling with family stuff this holiday season, you're not alone. I'm estranged from my son (his choice) and my mother (my choice), and with my dad and grandma both gone, the holidays hit different now.
Some years the empty chairs scream louder than the full ones.
If that's you too - if your family situation is complicated, if you're grieving who's gone or who's still here but unreachable, if you're trying to figure out how to make new traditions when the old ones hurt - just know you're not the only one.
Sometimes the best family is the one you choose. Sometimes it's your romance book characters. Sometimes it's just you and a really good bottle of wine. All valid options.
🫖 THE REAL TALK
Life is doing that thing where everything happens at once - moving, holidays, feelings about family, book sales, new beginnings, old wounds. Some days I'm excited about the future, other days I'm crying into packing paper about the past.
But here's what I know: books will always be there. New chapters (literal and figurative) are worth the scary parts. And sometimes the best gift you can give yourself is 99¢ romance novels and permission to feel whatever you're feeling.
Still believing in happily ever afters (especially the ones we write for ourselves),
