Okay, I’m officially in the “pacing around my office and drinking way too much coffee” phase of pre-release week. Chord of War & Love is so close I can almost taste the whiskey and sawdust. 😉
While I’m busy making sure every single word is perfect for you, I thought it would be fun to put our favorite grumpy SEAL and runaway rockstar in the hot seat. They... mostly cooperated.
I managed to corner Sean and Jade between a sound check and a heated argument over power tool placement. Here’s how it went:
Q: Describe your perfect day.
Sean: Productive. Quiet. Mission accomplished.
Jade: A stage, a working sound system, and a crowd that’s actually listening. And maybe a post-show tequila. Or three.
Q: Biggest pet peeve about your... roommate?
Sean: Her guitar picks. They’re on every flat surface in my apartment. And in my couch cushions. And probably in my soul at this point.
Jade: His tools on the kitchen counter. Also, his infuriating habit of being right. And that smirk he does when he knows it. Ugh.
Q: Go-to drink: Coffee or Whiskey?
Sean: Depends on the time of day. One starts the mission, the other ends it.
Jade: Coffee. Black. And strong enough to dissolve a spoon. How else am I supposed to deal with… him?
Q: What’s one word you’d use to describe the other person?
Sean: Mine.
Jade: Infuriating. (…but his publisher notes she was smiling when she said it.)
Q: And finally, what really happened that night in Long Beach?
Sean & Jade (in unison): You’ll have to read the book for that.
